Fully Clothed Massage Albuquerque
Fully Clothed Massage at Massage at Blue Sky lets you stay dressed and in control while you get real relief from pain and tension, for clients across Albuquerque and the surrounding area.
Nervous about being undressed in front of a stranger
Lying undressed on a table with someone you've just met is a lot to ask. That's why fully clothed is always an option here. Our therapists are trained in consent-based care, so you're told what's going to happen before it happens, and you set the pace the whole way through. If a spot, a pressure, or a movement feels like too much, say so and the session changes. You never need an explanation for staying dressed!
Not knowing what to wear or what to expect your first time
Short answer: you keep your clothes on. Mary and Jonathan work fully clothed with every client, and Lauretta does the same upon request. There's no draping to figure out and nothing to take off. Because sessions often start with range-of-motion testing, comfortable clothes you can move in work best. Soft stretchy pants and a loose shirt are plenty.
Wanting real relief, not a rushed routine
Staying dressed doesn't mean getting less. Mary's sessions start with range-of-motion and orthopedic tests to find which muscle is actually causing the problem. From there she loosens tight tissue, restores movement, and retests to confirm it worked. You leave with a few simple stretches or exercises to keep the results going at home. Jonathan's touch is lighter, easing restrictions in nerves, scar tissue, and deeper connective tissue that a standard routine usually skips. Either way, your hour goes to the thing that actually brought you in.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to take anything off?
No. Mary and Jonathan work fully clothed with every client, and Lauretta does the same whenever you ask. You're told that up front, so there's no draping to manage and no decision to make once you're on the table. If you'd rather have a draped, lotion-style session with Lauretta, she goes by your comfort level, and that's your call.
What should I wear to a fully clothed massage?
Wear something comfortable that lets you move freely. Many sessions begin with range-of-motion testing, so you'll want to raise an arm, turn your neck, or bend a hip without anything pulling. Soft stretchy pants and a loose shirt work well. You'll lie on the table in what you have on, so skip anything stiff, tight, or bulky.
Is a fully clothed massage as effective as a regular one?
It depends on what you want from it. For pain, stiffness, or recovery, fully clothed is how Mary and Jonathan already work, using testing, hands-on work, and retesting to see what actually helped. If you picture a full-body, lotion-and-sheets session, that's the draped session with Lauretta, which also focuses on pain relief and has many clients falling asleep by the end!
What happens during a session?
Every session starts with a conversation about what's bothering you and what you want from the hour. Mary follows with movement and orthopedic tests, works the problem area along with the rest of your body, retests, and sends you home with a few exercises. Jonathan evaluates as he works, rechecking constantly to confirm each area actually released. Lauretta works towards pain and tension relief that lasts. You're told what's happening and why as it happens.
Does a fully clothed massage cost the same, and will insurance cover it?
Yes. Sessions are $110 for 60 minutes or $155 for 90 minutes, plus tax, with any of the three therapists, clothed or not. Massage at Blue Sky doesn't bill insurance directly, but superbills are available on request, and HSA and FSA cards are accepted, so it's worth checking what your plan reimburses.
